Sunset through a Storm.

For whatever reason, this scene reminded me of the paint that I saw at the Museum of Modern Art.
'Reflection of Clouds on the Water' by Monet. Both of them are hazy and yet so vivid, don't you think?

Your Message Here.

Canadian university admission requirement: five grade 12 U/M subjects + ENG4U
Most offers are to be made during April and May. with the first semester and a second semester mid-term mark.

My top 5 courses in average : 89.4%
My mid-term English : 60%
Minimum requirement for the English : 70%
Shit.

I've been going through quiet an awful time since the moment of seeing that number.
Infinite loop of thinking on my head and melancholy British pop music in my ear.
But I just want all of you to know that I'm still alive and standing still :)
You are not going to believe much compassion I felt towards Hamlet and his uncertainty to act.
(haha perhaps that's why they put this book in the grade 12 curriculum?)

For now, I really don't know what's going to happen.
However, I will not going to let the efforts and dreams go in vain.
Hope I can write about the good news in a few months...

Thoughts of the Day.

My days became dry in the past weeks.

Numbers of #tests and assignments kept me busy over days and nights. This week, I had to write a response essay test regarding the 'Hamlet' Act 2 and 3, prepare 10 minutes seminar for 4 pages of the 'Heart of Darkness', do organic chemistry unit test, molecule model assignment, and the vector exam. Although not all of them went great, I'm feeling somewhat proud and happy to finish this particularly difficult week. Since the pressure, I've been #sleeping late again. For the past weeks, I went to sleep around 2am or 3am in average. Hopefully I can get back some sleep over the weekend?

A week ago, my English teacher announced the book for the major term essay, #Heart of Darkness. The novella had only about a hundred of pages but that pages were the hardest pages I ever read in my life! Not only every lines and paragraphs contained a dramatic importance (ex. character development, advancement on a plot, theme, and atmosphere), the book was written in multiple framed narratives (Story within a story within a story!). It was definitely harder to read than Shakespeare's. Although one thing that kept me interested while reading, was the fact that the book was used as a basis of the 1979 film, #Apocalypse Now (kor. 지옥의 묵시록). I remembered it as one of the excellent classic film of all time and surprised find out that the book provided the principal plot and symbols for it. Even though the setting was totally different (movie was about American soldiers in the Vietnam war and the book was about European imperialists in Congo), themes and motifs (darkness, river, fog) were still there. I should try to watch the movie again soon.

Last Friday was the season opener of the #Major League Baseball. I haven't been following the news and updates for long time, but I'll be soon going over each team's prospect report for this season and get familiarized with new faces. For this season, I wish the Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Indians to do much better than the last one. Both team being the second last one in the eastern and central league was.... very demotivating as a fan. On a side note, I'll be joining the #highschool baseball team again this year, which will be starting soon.

Of the Blue Colour of the Sky.

This was taken last Sunday when the sunshine was warm and clouds were moving fast.
It was probably the first time I thought myself, "wow, the colour of the sky is just beautiful."

Chromatic

I was working with some paints for the chemistry molecule model assignment.
Carbon - Black, Oxygen - Red, Nitrogen - Blue, Halogens - Yellow

Not that I regret taking the engineering entry courses, but you know what?
It would've been interesting to take a visual arts or a design course too...

The Royal Wedding.

CBC news has been covering the Royal wedding since the engagement back in Last October.
Since few weeks ago, the morning news started detailed coverage with a special segment
Now, first thing I likely see in the morning is the welfare of Kate and William

I understand that Canada is a proud commonwealth country with an exceptional relationship with the UK
but do Canadians really want to know how much does the hotel cost for their wedding guests?
or if best British fares are expected from the kitchen? (OMG, what a surprise :p)

I don't know. Maybe because I'm neither a Canadian nor British.
Anyway these news coverage reminded me of the following quotation from the movie, 'The King's Speech'

"In the past all a King had to do was look respectable in uniform and not fall off his horse.
Now we must invade people's homes and ingratiate ourselves with them.
This family is reduced to those lowest, basest of all creatures, we've become actors!"
