Canadian Club.

Produced since 1858 by Gooderham and Worts, the Distillery District of the Toronto Waterfront.
During the years of Prohibition, one of the distillery's most important clients was Chicago gangster Al Capone.
He smuggled in thousands of cases of Canadian Club via a route from Windsor to Detroit.

Flamingo.

Flamingo (1974) by Alexander Calder

Found in front of the Kluczynski Federal Building,
which turned out to be designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe,
the same architect who designed the Toronto Dominion Centre

International Style; Expression of volume rather than mass,
the emphasis on balance rather than preconceived symmetry,
and the expulsion of applied ornament.

Rookery Building.

"Making prodigious use of light and ornamentation, Root and Burnham designed a central light court to serve as the focal point for the entire building and provide daylight to interior offices."

Cloud Gate.

"What I wanted to do in Millennium Park is make something that would engage the Chicago skyline ... so that one will see the clouds kind of floating in, with those very tall buildings reflected in the work. And then, since it is in the form of a gate, the participant, the viewer, will be able to enter into this very deep chamber that does, in a way, the same thing to one's reflection as the exterior of the piece is doing to the reflection of the city around."

- Anish Kapoor, Sculptor

Santa Fe Building.

"A street level two-story enclosed court designed in a symmetrical Beaux-Arts style was surmounted by an open lightwell which was surrounded by a ring of offices. By the formal arched entrance on Jackson Boulevard, a large staircase led to shops and a second-floor balcony. White-glazed terracotta sheaths the exterior facade and interior court and the lightwell is lined with white-glazed brick. Classical designs were used for the ornamental dentils, balusters, and column capitals."
