In Another Country.

As the narrator of the film works on a movie script, a care-free French woman named Anne (Isabelle Huppert) goes through three different scenarios in a small town of Korea.

Somewhat improvised storyline and the lack of verbal commentary clearly suggests its nature of an indie film. Story of Anne in another country, the confusions and miscommunications, were woozily pleasurable to watch. A group of Koreans and a French talking awkwardly in English, which is the only available common tongue, made me think again about the way many Koreans in the main land interact with foreigners: slight fear, confusion, fabricated smile, curiosity, and the over kindness.

Anne: "Oh, thank you so much. You are so kind!"
Wonju: "No, I'm not kind!"
