I've been re- reading the Hearts of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. This book used to be nothing more than just a required reading in grade 12, but my mind was still intrigued by the ideas presented in the novel even after the term paper was handed in. As one critic of the time put it, the story had become 'a Pilgrim's Progress for our pessimistic and psychologizing age' and I can't agree more based on my experience.

"Droll thing life is- that mysterious arrangement of merciless logic for a futile purpose. The most you can hope from it is some knowledge of yourself." These words hit me hard.

I watched the redux version of Apocalypse Now (1979) again.

The last time I watched it was only back in 2011, but something felt definitely different this time. I could see things that I wasn't able to see in the past and was somewhat able to share the visions of Coppola more closely and naturally.

The opening scene with whirling sounds of choppers and the track by the Doors is simply dazzling every time I see it.

I was suppose to write the Calculus 2 midterm on Feburary 8th.

I couldn't do any study on the subject due to bad time management (or time managed too well) so I got up early in the morning on the day of exam- but only to find out that campus is closed for the day and all the exams have been postponed due to excessive weather condition.

Is this what having a 'heart like an open highway' would feels like? I wouldn't know otherwise.
